Arturo M. Rodriguez, CFA, is Simplexity Investment Management's Founder and President and the Resilient Growth Strategy's Portfolio Manager. He established Simplexity in 2013 to develop a strategy that would cost effectively grow investors' assets while simultaneously being robust and resilient in the face of changing economic and capital market environments. The result is the Resilient Growth model and Strategy, which Simplexity markets to individual and institutional investors as separately managed ETF portfolios.

Prior to founding Simplexity, Arturo was an investment strategist and portfolio manager at Legg Mason Capital Management (LMCM) in Baltimore, MD. As a strategist since 2004 he was responsible for studying the broad risk-reward dynamics of groups of stocks and markets, as well as the optimal structure of investment portfolios and strategies. As a portfolio manager since 2009 he was responsible for managing the Systematic Equity strategy, which Arturo designed as a disciplined, rules based, risk managed implementation of LMCM's long term, fundamental, valuation driven investment philosophy.

Prior to his work at LMCM, Arturo was an investment strategist at Lehman Brothers in New York, NY, and London, UK.  As a strategist at Lehman since in 2001 he was responsible for studying the fundamental principles that drive corporate value and investment returns and for generating investment ideas among European and US companies.

From 2006 to 2013 Arturo was a regular participant at Santa Fe Institute meetings, theme weeks, working groups, symposia and other events through which he first began the study of capital markets as complex adaptive systems, the approach that serves as foundation for the Resilient Growth model and Strategy.

Arturo earned a BSc in Electrical Engineering, a BSc in Management, and a MEng in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, all from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA. He also earned a MSc in Applied Mathematics, and is pursuing a PhD in Mathematics, from the George Washington University in Washington, DC. In addition, he is a CFA Charterholder since 2007, and is fluent in English, Spanish and French.
